Quitline for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities

Quitline services across Australia have Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander counsellors who are ready to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who want to quit smoking or vaping. They can also support Community who are using vapes to quit the smokes.

To get culturally sensitive support to quit anywhere across Australia, call 13 7848 and ask to speak with a counsellor for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.

How does Quitline for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities work?

When someone gets counselling through the service, they work with the same counsellor the whole way through the quitting process and we bring our ways and traditions of yarning into the counselling.

We respect Men’s and Women’s Business. If you want to speak to a woman, you can. If you want to speak to a man, you can.

There’s no pressure to do anything you’re not ready to do. It’s all about giving our Communities the support they need to quit smoking or vaping with culture at the centre of everything we do. The counsellors can also support you if you are using vapes to stop smoking and can help you stop vaping.
